Walk Wednesday; Westgate, County Durham. I’ve been meaning to share this walk since we took it back in mid August. The walk follows the river bank up to Slit Mine and a little beyond then loops back down an old farm track before joining the very quiet road back to the village of Westgate. It was a moderate walk for the kids (aged 4 and 8). Luckily the Toffee Dwarves who work the mine had left plenty of treasure to be found behind walls and rocks so there weren’t too many complaints.
About to make the move from Buckinghamshire to Ohio - so we're cramming in as much exploring in our local area as we can before we start exploring a whole new place.
