Camping Bookings Up

No surprises there…

The recent spell of warm weather has reminded us Brits how great our summers could be and the Camping and Caravanning Club has seen bookings increase by 6% year on year for the late May Bank Holiday Weekend.

With 2009 bookings up on the year before this is a clear indicator that the great British Summer Holiday is making a strong come back.

With economists predicting financial tough times ahead and the threat of volcanic ash clouds threatening flights it appears that people are avoiding costly overseas holidays and finding out what Britain has to offer.

Whilst growth has been seen across all the regions Scotland has seen the largest increase with bookings for the 28th May weekend up 8% on last year.

“The weather over the weekend was quite incredible and our Club Sites were extremely busy with both campers and caravanners, who were keen to get out and explore and make the most of the soaring temperatures,” said Club Director General Robert Louden.

With increases in advance bookings like these the impulsive, sling the tent in the car and see where we end up trip might need a little advance planning to make sure you find a site!
